Aberdeen has always had a music community. What it has needed is a platform to be heard.
AMW’s Amplify Aberdeen provides that platform.
At the heart of a 40-45 minute documentary are four artists, Nicole D, Captain Toms, Chachy, and Bisongrass sharing what it truly means to build a creative life in the North East. Their stories explore the influences that shaped them, the obstacles they’ve overcome, the breakthroughs that defined them, and the sense of belonging that keeps them rooted here in the North-East.
Featuring contributions from the CEOs of Belmont Cinema and Jazz Scotland, the documentary places these personal journeys within a wider conversation about culture, place, and the evolving identity of Aberdeen’s music scene.
This is not a highlight reel.
It is a living document, a portrait of a city, told by the people creating its soundtrack.
