Hailing from Aberdeen, Scotland, the four-piece Floating Heads are a fuzzed-up brew of heavy neo-psych tones with real songs, ethereal vocals, and soaring melodies. Audiences, including those at a recent sold-out venue at Edinburgh Psych Fest, have described the sound as a ‘thunderous behemoth’. Channeling influences ranging from The Doors and Black Angels, The Jesus and Mary Chain, and bands like Yoo Dao Right, the band invents mind-bending, modern psych rock that stands out. Formed in 2019, the band released their debut EP, ‘No Reflections’, recorded in Bradford in 2020. They followed up with their second EP, ‘Yesteryear’, at Dystopia Studios in Glasgow in 2022. The band’s mission is to put Aberdeen firmly back on the UK map and beyond, and has performed with the likes of Helicon, The Third Sound (featuring Brian Jonestown Massacre Guitarist) and Italian band The New Candys. Recent singles ‘Glass Minds’ and ‘Drug Tent’ recorded and mixed at the acclaimed Fuzzface Studio, have garnered global recognition and radio airplay. The band is currently busy writing and recording their next album, while also arranging tours for 2026 in the UK and Europe.
